History of Greenwood

The Greenwood neighborhood in Brooklyn was one of the sites of the pivotal Battle of Brooklyn in August 1776, during the American Revolutionary War. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, Greenwood’s waterfront location allowed for the creation and development of a thriving industrial and trade economy.
